TB
control Have we made an impact?????
Some hard truths about TB
It is estimated between 2000 and 2020
Nearly one million people will be newly affected
200 million people will get sick and
35 million will die due to infection of TB if control of the disease is
not further strengthened.
How does a person get infected and transmission of TB happens???
When infectious people cought, sneeze, talk or spit, they propel TB germs,
known as 'bacilli' into the air.
On inhaling the 'bacilli' contained air, a normal person would get affected.
People affected with TB need not necessary get sick with the disease and
once when the immunity of a person falls down, the TB bacilli which is
protected with a thick waxy coat gains resistance and then the person
becomes sick.
1. But how is it going to be controlled?
2. What measures either the government or the common man has taken to
prevent the disease from spreading its wings?
3. These questions remain unsolvable. But TB is an eminently curable disease
provided one is regular and unless we make all efforts, this
disease might stage a come back.
